Privacy Policy

TemporalNotes does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no trackers, and no advertising. Everything you put into the app stays on your device and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud — never on our servers, because we don't have any.

We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share any personal information. We have no servers that receive your commitments, transcripts, photos, or usage data. We cannot see your content.

Your commitments, updates, and notes are stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device database. All processing — transcription, AI parsing, and the pattern detection that powers commitment awareness — runs entirely on-device. No API calls are made containing your content.

If you enable iCloud, your data syncs across your devices through your own private iCloud (CloudKit) database, tied to your Apple ID. This keeps your devices in sync; it does not send your data to us, and we have no access to your iCloud data. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

The app requests these permissions only for features you actively use. All data is processed on your device — it is never sent to or stored by us:

• Microphone & speech recognition — to transcribe voice updates. Transcription happens on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition and a local AI model; we do not receive or store your audio or transcripts.
• Camera & photo library — to let you select images for text-recognition (OCR) updates. Image text is extracted on your device; images are not transmitted to us.

TemporalNotes uses local AI models (running entirely on your device) to parse spoken updates, extract structured information, and detect commitment patterns. These models run without network access. No portion of your speech, transcript, or commitment content is ever sent to a cloud AI service or third-party inference provider.

The app uses Apple's MetricKit framework to receive anonymized crash and performance diagnostics. These reports are provided by Apple, do not include the content of your commitments, and are used only to keep the app stable.

TemporalNotes contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs and does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework. We do not track you.

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised version on this page.
